Ptsd can be a complex and a very challenging condition affecting nearly every part of a person's life. For veterans, ptsd is a lasting effect from their service and it can impact anyone who has experienced significant trauma, whether it's from an accident, loss of a loved one, a natural disaster or even something like chronic stress. So when we think of PTSD like chronic stress, so when we think of PTSD, we're talking about more than just stress. Ptsd is characterized and let me just say I'm not providing any medical advice here or claiming to diagnose or treat any conditions like this but PTSD is characterized by symptoms like flashbacks, nightmares, intense anxiety and even physical reactions to reminders of that traumatic event, or maybe not even reminders. But the psychology definitely affects the physiology and can have a profound impact over the entire body and mind, and over time, these responses can disrupt daily life, disrupt relationships and even disrupt health. And here's something that might actually surprise you Studies show that PTSD isn't just a psychological response. It has real physical effects on the brain and the body.

So why hypnosis? Well, hypnosis can be that missing link in recovery, especially for trauma-based health issues. Unlike many other traditional therapies, clinical hypnosis directly targets the subconscious, where these traumas can be stored. And while conscious therapies focus on managing symptoms or analyzing thoughts and you know, talk therapy, things like that hypnosis allows us to dive deeper into the root of the trauma itself, without actually having to discuss or revisit the trauma, and that's the really special thing. So you might be wondering how does this work? Well, hypnosis brings you into a deeply relaxed state where your mind becomes more receptive, and then it's in this state we can work on reprogramming the mind's response to traumatic memories, helping you to neutralize triggers and reduce the power that those memories hold over the person. So research shows that this subconscious work can be extremely effective, often outperforming traditional therapies for trauma related issues. In fact, multiple studies have found that hypnosis can significantly reduce symptoms of PTSD, improve sleep, reduce anxiety and enhance overall quality of life. The science behind it is promising by for lack of a better term rewiring how our brain responds. It's actually called neuroplasticity. So the brain is malleable and we can actually, uh, utilize hypnosis to you know, in essence, rewire how our brain responds to past trauma, and hypnosis empowers you to regain control without having to constantly relive painful memories. So this approach doesn't just apply to veterans, but to anyone facing trauma-related challenges, whether it's chronic stress, anxiety or even physical symptoms linked to past experiences.

So, for instance, if we were to leverage a minerals and metals test, we can actually examine how your body is utilizing essential electrolytes. These are vital minerals like magnesium, potassium, sodium and calcium that play a key role in stress stages. Now these electrolytes they impact your body's ability to respond to stress and by understanding their levels we can tailor a strategy to help restore balance. We can also see levels of heavy metals that can have a negative effect on mental health and then take safe and effective steps to remove those toxicities and lessen that stress burden on the body.

And that's just. That's just one example of one health test, so I'll give you one more. There's the stress mood and metabolism test. So this test well, let me back up for one second. The minerals and metals test is just a simple hair sample. This is something that you can't get at your conventional practitioner. Same thing with the stress mood metabolism test. So the hair sample looks at minerals and metals.

The stress mood metabolism test utilizes a saliva sample and it also utilizes a simple blood spot. So a finger prick and then a couple of drops of blood on a card, and this test looks at critical hormones through saliva, such as cortisol throughout the day, which is very important. You're not going to get an accurate cortisol level from blood serum, but saliva, on the other hand, will give you some accuracy there and then, looking at that throughout the day, can plot a curve to make sure that your cortisol is within range in the morning, before lunch, before dinner and before bed. And using that same saliva sample, we can also look at hormones, and then the blood spot is for a full thyroid panel, a cardiometabolic panel and vitamin D3 as well, which are all super, super important, especially for stress levels. So let's talk about that for a minute.

Cortisol, you may or may not know, is our primary stress hormone and this fluctuates throughout the day and when it's imbalanced it can actually lead to heightened stress, anxiety and even mood swings. So balancing cortisol and optimizing thyroid function can make a significant difference in your energy levels, your overall mood, your stress levels as well. So by looking at all of these markers which, again, you're not going to get the same look at these markers through blood serum, which is the only way that your conventional medicine practitioner will actually look at it, and that information is useful as well. But here we're going subclinical with these lab tests and we get a full picture of how your body is responding to stress on a biochemical level, essential for anyone dealing with ptsd or trauma-based health issues, and here's why this is so important.

Speaker 1:

By combining hypnosis with these targeted health tests, we can address both the mind and the body and addressing those root causes of stress, not just the symptoms. And if we find imbalances in hormones or minerals or even vitamins that are contributing to stress, we can implement a targeted supplementation strategy to be able to restore balance while implementing the clinical hypnosis, and so this may include using adaptogens such as ashwagandha or L theanine be able to calm that central nervous system, calm that stress response. Magnesium also it's an all-star mineral for buffering stress, and the test lets us know, you know, do we need both calcium and magnesium, or just magnesium? That's an important step to be able to bio-individualize a wellness plan for each specific person, or even specific amino acids to be able to support the central nervous system. So it's this unique approach is what truly sets integrative health practitioners, hypnotherapists, apart.
